Habit Has Opposite Effect For Few
Women who light up may extinguish their chances of getting pregnant, according to a new study that finds smoking hurts fertility. It’s even worse for women who aren’t using their own eggs to conceive, the study outlined.
Smoking is a habit that not only affects the health of an unborn child, but also the chance a woman will become pregnant, even if she is getting high-tech help.
The study out of Portugal and Spain found much lower pregnancy rates among heavy smokers — 10 or more cigarettes a day — who underwent in vitro-fertilization compared to women who smoked less.
